Had to change today’s post (will explain later) so I’ve gone back to the Edinburgh photos and this is a gold post box near to where the olympic gold medalist Chis Hoy lives.
This is Maciek Kotarski an artist originally from Lodz in Poland but now lives and works in Coalisland. He has only been painting for under two years but has a exhibition of his work in the foyer of the Craic Theatre Coalisland. He is a big fan of the American artist Rudy Ernst and did a tribute painting to him especially for Craic.
This is Philip Mitchell crossing the finishing line in Cookstown after walking 20 marathons in 20 days as a fund raiser for the Royal National Blind Institute. He hopes to raise £10,000. Philip who works as Fitness Instructer in the Cookstown Leisure Centre, had set himself this physically demanding challenges to complete by August 30th.
This is one of the Go Karts that took part in “The Thrill on The Hill” races in Pomeroy Co Tyrone organised by the local community groups Pomeroy Players Drama Group, Pomeroy Plunketts Gaelic football club and the local branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann which promotes traditional music and arts in the area. Pomeroy is built on a hill and the Karts came careering down the hill through the village to negotiate a tricky corner at the foot of the hill.
This is the 23 Bus in Edinburgh which features in many of Alexander McCall Smiths books. In Espresso Tales Irene Pollock, Bertie Pollock’s very pretentious and over bearing mother (she makes the five year old boy go to yoga, Italian and Saxophone lessons) insists that Bertie take the 23 to school even though the 27 is more direct simply because you get a better class of person on the 23 as its route includes nice places like Morningside.
