Day 137 Willie Frazier (Photo A Day 2012)
This is Willie Frazier. Wille is making the news today after seeing the Italian flag being flown as part of a cultural event held in Donaghmore‘s St Patrick’s Primary and mistaking it for the Irish Tricolor, accused the school for 4-11 year old children of being “the junior headquarters of SF/IRA youth”, stating on Facebook that “I wounder do they also train the children in how to use weapons, for it seems they can do what they wont. [sic]” Concerned for the safety of students and the school’s reputation, teachers informed police of the accusations and photographs of the school taken by Frazer were later removed from Facebook.
Day 136 Apple Genius Bar (Photo A Day 2012)
This is my laptop. I was working on it last night when it warned me that the battery needed serviced. Got an appointment this evening at the Apple Store at Victoria Square where the “genius” told me I was lucky as the battery was about to blow with the potential to write the computer off all together. No trip to the genius bar in the Apple Store is cheap and this was no exception.

Day 133 Moortown v Ardboe (Photo A Day 2012)
This is action from a gaelic football match which I was covering for a local newspaper the “Tyrone Herald” on saturday evening between Moortown (red & white hoops) and Ardboe. The teams are near neighbours and as a result there is intense rivalry between them. This game had an extra edge as one of the Ardboe players had recently defected from the Moortown team. This is a rare enough event in club football especially were a player goes to play for the “other side”. Ardboe were the eventual winners of what turned out to be a very poor game. The two players are Peter Devlin (Moortown) and Shea McGuigan (Ardboe)

Day 131 Arty G McGonigle (Photo A Day 2012)
I was in Omagh today and passed by this plaque on the wall outside Supervalu on Market Street. It’s to the memory Arthur McGonigle or “Arty G” who was one of the most familiar faces in Omagh Town centre for the past number of decades, playing his unique blend of music from his daily position near the Northern bank in Market Street accompanied by his trusty canine companion ‘Gizmo’. Arty died in 2007 and I was in Omagh the day they unveiled this plaque back in 2008. I can’t believe that is three and a half years ago.
Day 130 Jake O’Kane (Photo A Day 2012)
This is Jake O’Kane the Belfast-based stand-up comedian, and a resident compère of longest running comedy club, The Empire Laughs Back at The Empire Music Hall in Belfast. I took this a while back and it was a nerve wrecking moment when I had to join Jake on stage. It was at that moment that I realised I could never do stand up.
O’Kane has toured extensively, working with some of the biggest names on the comedy circuit and has also appeared at some of the country’s top comedy clubs including The Stand, Jongleurs and The Comedy Store.
Jake’s television and radio credits include appearances on the award-winning ‘The Empire Laughs Back’. More recently, Jake hosted and performed on the BBC NI stand up show ‘One Night Stand’ and is resident panellist on ‘The Blame Game’ on both TV and radio
